Primary Responsibilities :
• Manage procurement of raw materials including pre-painted (PPGI/PPGL) and galvanised (GI) steel coils, stainless steel sheets (SS 304/316), aluminium profiles and extrusions, PUF/PIR insulation chemicals (polyol, isocyanate/MDI), rockwool/mineral wool slabs, and honeycomb and EPS infill materials
• Manage procurement of consumables and components including sealants, gaskets, adhesives, fasteners, door hardware, vision panels/glazing, protective films, packaging, and production consumables
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and audit suppliers, and establish rate contracts with mills, service centres, and component manufacturers
• Negotiate price, payment terms, and delivery timelines, and drive cost reduction, alternate sourcing, and localisation to Group specifications
• Track commodity price trends (steel, chemicals, aluminium) and recommend buying strategies to manage price volatility
• Plan material requirements in line with production plans and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Manage inventory, stores, and min-max planning to maintain target stock levels and avoid line stoppages
• Coordinate inbound logistics and supplier delivery schedules
• Coordinate with QA/QC for incoming material inspection, mill test certificates, and traceability documentation
• Track and report costs and purchase price variance (PPV), and produce KPI-based supplier performance reports
• Lead supplier performance reviews and improvement initiatives covering quality, safety, sustainability, and delivery
• Manage contractual documents (NDAs, rate contracts, purchase agreements) and ensure compliance with procurement policies, controls, and audit trails
• Support new product and material phase-in/phase-out planning
• Implement sustainable sourcing practices and ensure compliance with ESG and environmental requirements
• Implement ERP/MRP-based procurement processes, SOPs, approval workflows, and MIS reporting
Experience Requirements:
Required Skills:
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills
• Good knowledge of steel (coated coils, GI, SS) and insulation
material markets in India
• Vendor development and supplier relationship management
capability
• MRP and BOM-based material planning capability
• Inventory and stores management capability
• ERP proficiency and data-driven decision making
• Cost analysis and should-costing skills
• Crisis management skills for handling supply disruptions
• Continuous improvement mindset (Lean Six Sigma preferred)
Preferred Technical & Business Knowledge:
• Coated steel supply chain – mills, service centres, coil
processing, and pricing mechanisms
• PUF/PIR/rockwool insulated sandwich panel manufacturing and
its raw material ecosystem
• Quality management systems (ISO 9001) and material traceability
requirements
• GST, e-way bill, contracts, and commercial terms management
• Import substitution and vendor localisation strategies

Experience • 5–10 years of experience in purchase, procurement, and supply
chain functions, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role
• Experience in sandwich/insulated panel manufacturers,
cleanroom panel or door manufacturers, coated steel processors,
PEB companies, or related manufacturing businesses
• Hands-on experience buying coated steel coils, insulation
chemicals, and manufacturing consumables
