Primary Responsibilities :
Carry out routine, type and acceptance tests on surge arresters as per IEC/IS standards
Conduct HV tests such as power frequency withstand, lightning impulse, switching
impulse, partial discharge, residual voltage, and watt loss / leakage current measurement
Prepare, operate and maintain HV test setups and measuring instruments, and ensure
calibration is up to date
Prepare test reports and maintain accurate records and traceability
Support customer witness testing and third-party inspections
Analyse test results and failures, and work with Design and Production on root cause
analysis and corrective actions
Support new product development and design validation through testing
Follow safety protocols in the HV lab and support quality system audits (ISO)
Experience Requirements:
Qualification
M.Tech in Electrical Engineering (High Voltage Engineering or Power Systems
preferred)
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
Experiencе
2 to 5 years in high voltage testing or electrical testing, ideally in surge arresters,
insulators, transformers, switchgear or similar HV equipment manufacturing
Skills Required Strong knowledge of HV testing principles and IEC 60099-4 / IEC 60099-5 or related standards Hands-on experience with HV test equipment, impulse generators and PD measurement systems Good report writing and documentation skills MS Office and basic data analysis Strong safety awareness and attention to detail Good to Have Exposure to NABL-accredited lab practices Experience handling customer or third-party witness tests
