Primary Responsibilities :
1. Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Inspect and approve incoming raw materials, including CR/HR steel sheets and coils, hardware, powder, pretreatment chemicals, and packaging materials. Verify material thickness, surface quality, and Mill Test Certificates (MTC/TC) against approved PO specifications. Identify deviations and raise NCRs for non-conforming materials. Ensure proper quarantine and segregation of rejected materials. Share incoming quality data with Purchase and QA teams to support vendor performance evaluation and rating. 2. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) Conduct first-piece/first-off inspections before authorizing production runs. Perform regular patrol inspections across manufacturing processes, including: Laser Cutting Fiber and Pipe Laser Operations Turret Punching Press Brake Forming Welding Assembly Verify critical dimensions, bend angles, hole positions, burr limits, flatness, and other drawing requirements. Ensure production continues only after QC approval of the first piece. Perform visual weld inspections based on defined acceptance criteria. Inspect fillet size, penetration, spatter, undercut, distortion, and other relevant welding parameters. 3. Finishing & Coating Inspection Monitor and inspect pretreatment line output and verify surface preparation quality. Ensure compliance with approved Oxsilan and pretreatment process check sheets. Perform powder coating inspections, including: Dry Film Thickness (DFT) Cross-Hatch Adhesion Testing Gloss Testing Colour Matching Impact Testing Bend Testing Coordinate periodic salt spray testing based on customer and export requirements. Maintain complete test reports and inspection records. 4. Final Inspection, Testing & Pre-Shipment Conduct final inspections of finished products, including shelving systems, welded products, and enclosures. Verify product dimensions, fitment, assembly, surface finish, labelling, and hardware kitting. Conduct assembly and functional trials where required. Execute load testing of shelving products as per customer specifications. Maintain load testing records and supporting photo evidence. Inspect enclosure-specific features, including gasket seating, earthing points, ingress-critical features, and fastener torque where applicable. Conduct pre-shipment inspections based on approved AQL sampling plans. Verify packaging standards as per customer requirements. Conduct container loading inspections. Approve shipments and issue final shipment release after confirming product conformance. 5. Measuring Instruments & Calibration Management Act as the custodian for all quality measuring instruments and gauges. Manage instruments including: Vernier Calipers Micrometers Height Gauges DFT Meters Weld Gauges Angle Gauges Inspection Fixtures Own and maintain the internal and external calibration schedule. Coordinate NABL calibration where required. Maintain calibration certificates, records, and instrument history cards. Ensure immediate removal and segregation of out-of-calibration instruments. 6. Non-Conformance Control & Quality Documentation Raise NCRs for non-conforming materials and products. Ensure proper tagging, segregation, and quarantine of rejected materials. Monitor rework activities and conduct re-inspection before clearance. Present non-conformance data and objective evidence to the Material Review Board (MRB). Maintain complete and audit-ready quality documentation, including: Incoming Inspection Reports First-Off Inspection Reports Patrol Inspection Logs Final Inspection Reports Test Certificates NCR Records Rework and Rejection Records Publish daily and weekly rejection and rework reports. Analyze defects by production stage and defect category. Share quality performance data with Production and QA teams for corrective action. Authority The QC Lead will have the authority to: Hold or reject any material, component, batch, or shipment that does not meet approved specifications. Stop production when critical quality issues are identified. Approve first-piece inspections before production runs commence. Ensure no production run proceeds without appropriate QC clearance.
