Primary Responsibilities :
Key Roles & Responsibilities Feasibility Assessment Evaluate the manufacturability of new and existing designs across CNC punch press, press brake, roll forming, tube fabrication, and welding lines. Review DFM outputs and provide formal feasibility sign-off before NPD commits to tooling. Identify potential manufacturing challenges and recommend suitable process improvements. Quality & Compliance Ensure produced components and assemblies comply with applicable standards, including ASTM, EN, DIN, JIS, ISI, REACH, and RoHS. Maintain compliance documentation and traceability from raw material sourcing through final dispatch. Drive a strong in-process quality culture across the manufacturing floor. Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives for non-conformances identified through dimensional, mechanical, impact, and chemical testing. Process & Cycle Time Improvement Conduct cycle time studies and establish performance benchmarks for machines and production lines. Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using DMAIC, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies. Monitor OEE and identify opportunities for process optimization. Manufacturing Execution & Documentation Own and maintain engineering execution files, including: G-code and CAM programs SOP documents Jig setup sheets Tooling change records Process documentation Ensure proper version control, accessibility, and accuracy of engineering documents. Cost & Budget Management Track manufacturing cost performance against approved budgets. Conduct variance analysis across material, consumables, tooling, and overhead costs. Identify root causes for cost deviations and recommend corrective actions. NPD & Tooling Coordination Act as the technical interface between the NPD team and the Tool & Die Shop. Review DFM outputs and validate tooling specifications. Coordinate tooling development and modifications. Validate first-off samples before production trials. Support prototype validation and bridge the gap between prototype and production feasibility. Machine & Process Exposure Required The candidate should have hands-on working knowledge of the following manufacturing processes: Sheet Metal & Fabrication CNC Turret Punch Press CNC Press Brake / Bending Roll Forming Tube Forming & Fabrication MIG / TIG / Spot Welding Surface Treatment & Coating Powder Coating Galvanizing / Zinc Coating Surface Pretreatment Processes Quality & Testing UTM and Impact Testing Dimensional Inspection Surface Table and 2D Height Gauge GD&T Interpretation Chemical Testing and Pretreatment Bath Monitoring Tooling & Product Development Tooling and Die Development Progressive Die Design Wire EDM DFM Review First-Off Validation Rapid Prototyping / 3D Printing Manufacturing & Environmental Processes Production Line Optimization OEE Analysis Effluent Treatment Process Awareness Zero Liquid Discharge Process Understanding
