Primary Responsibilities :
Key Roles & Responsibilities
● Conduct and witness material testing — concrete cubes, aggregates, and soil — in accordance with
applicable IS codes, and maintain accurate test records.
● Prepare and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for the various stages of construction activity.
● Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any deviation observed, and drive them through root-cause
analysis to verified closure.
● Conduct joint inspections and material/workmanship approvals with client/PMC quality representatives.
● Maintain quality documentation, including test registers, calibration certificates, and material
approval/traceability records.
● Verify vendor and sub-contractor material compliance prior to use at site.
● Support internal and client/third-party quality audits, and close out audit observations within agreed
timelines.
● Provide quality awareness training to site engineers, supervisors and workmen as required.
● Hold the line on quality standards while communicating constructively with the execution team under
schedule pressure.
Technical Competencies
● Working knowledge of IS 456 (Concrete), IS 516 and IS 1199 (Concrete Testing), IS 383 and IS 2386
(Aggregates), and IS 2720 series (Soil Testing).
● Experience preparing and implementing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements.
● Sound understanding of the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) lifecycle, from identification to verified
closure.
● Familiarity with material traceability and vendor quality documentation requirements.
Experience Requirements:
● High attention to detail and unwillingness to compromise on documented quality standards.
● Assertiveness balanced with diplomacy when raising quality issues with the execution team.
● Integrity in test reporting and documentation, without exception.
● Collaborative, solution-oriented approach — proposing workable alternatives rather than only rejecting
non-conformances.
