Primary Responsibilities :
Newborn Care
Provide professional care for newborn babies during the postnatal period.
Monitor the baby's health, growth, feeding patterns, and overall well-being.
Perform newborn bathing, diaper changing, hygiene, and routine care.
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic nursery environment.
Infant Feeding Support
Assist mothers with breastfeeding techniques and lactation support.
Prepare and manage bottle feeding as required.
Sterilize feeding bottles, breast pumps, and feeding equipment.
Prepare infant formula and feeds according to recommended guidelines.
Sleep & Development
Establish healthy sleep routines and schedules for newborns.
Use appropriate soothing and swaddling techniques.
Monitor infant behavior and developmental milestones.
Maternal Support
Provide emotional and practical postnatal support to mothers.
Educate parents on newborn care, feeding, hygiene, and safety practices.
Offer guidance on infant health and routine care.
Health & Safety
Follow infection prevention and hygiene protocols.
Respond appropriately to newborn emergencies.
Maintain accurate observations and report any health concerns promptly.
Experience Requirements:
Qualification
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Preferred Qualification
Postgraduate qualification in Midwifery, Neonatal Nursing, or Pediatric Nursing.
Preferred Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Infant CPR
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Infection Control
Breastfeeding / Lactation Support Certification
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in:
Maternity Nursing
Neonatal Care
NICU
Postnatal Care
Newborn Care
Experience with premature babies and twins is preferred.
