Primary Responsibilities :
Coordinate ship design and engineering projects from project initiation through final delivery. • Monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and overall project progress. • Prepare project documentation, technical reports, meeting minutes, presentations, and progress reports. • Coordinate communication between customers, naval architects, marine engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and company management. • Act as the primary liaison with the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) regarding plan approval, classification, certification, surveys, and regulatory compliance. • Coordinate project-related communication with the Indian Navy concerning technical, contractual, administrative, and project execution matters. • Liaise with Indian government authorities, defense organizations, procurement agencies, port authorities, and other relevant state institutions involved in shipbuilding projects. • Coordinate interactions with classification societies, certification bodies, equipment manufacturers, and technical consultants. • Support contract administration, project planning, procurement activities, and project execution. • Organize technical meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and monitor completion of agreed action items. • Assist in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and workload monitoring. • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company procedures, quality management systems, classification rules, and applicable naval standards. • Identify project risks and assist in developing mitigation plans. • Maintain project documentation, document control, correspondence records, and project databases. • Support proposal preparation, tender documentation, and customer presentations when required. • Monitor engineering deliverables and coordinate timely submission of documentation to customers and regulatory authorities.
Experience Requirements:
➢ Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Shipbuilding Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline. ➢ Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the shipbuilding or marine engineering industry. ➢ Previous experience in project coordination or project management. ➢ Good understanding of ship design, ship construction, marine systems, and engineering documentation. ➢ Familiarity with Indian naval and defense procurement procedures is highly desirable. ➢ Previous service as a Reserve Officer of the Indian Navy would be considered a significant advantage. ➢ Knowledge of naval vessels, military marine systems, and defense projects is preferred. ➢ Excellent written and spoken English. ➢ Strong organizational and communication skills. ➢ Ability to prepare professional reports, technical correspondence, meeting minutes, and project documentation. ➢ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). ➢ Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications ➢ PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification would be an advantage. ➢ Experience working with classification societies such as IRS, DNV, Lloyd's Register, ABS, or Bureau Veritas. ➢ Experience with defense or government shipbuilding programs. ➢ Familiarity with CAD, PDM, and PLM systems used in ship design.
