Primary Responsibilities :

1. Demand & Supply Planning

  • Prepare demand projections and procurement forecasts based on sales plans.
  • Develop demand and supply plans to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Supply Chain teams for accurate planning.

2. Procurement & Commercial

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, packaging materials.
  • Develop sourcing strategies to achieve cost optimization and uninterrupted supply.
  • Handle commercial procurement activities including RFQs, comparative analysis and supplier selection.
  • Draft, review and manage procurement contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures.
  • Drive continuous cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.

3. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Relationship Management

  • Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure long-term business partnerships.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on Quality, Cost, Delivery and Service (QCDS).
  • Conduct vendor audits, supplier evaluations and periodic performance reviews.
  • Maintain vendor master database and procurement documentation.

4. Negotiation & Cost Management

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial agreements.
  • Control procurement costs in line with approved budgets.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity prices and inflation to recommend sourcing strategies.
  • Implement quarterly and annual cost-saving initiatives.

5. Logistics Management

  • Coordinate domestic and overseas logistics operations.
  • Ensure smooth interstate movement of materials and finished goods.
  • Apply Incoterms knowledge for import and export procurement activities.
  • Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, CHA and logistics partners.
  • Track shipments and ensure timely deliveries.

6. Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Monitor daily and weekly inventory levels.
  • Conduct inventory analysis and inventory ageing reviews.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Monitor reorder levels and stock replenishment.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse, Stores, QA/QC and Supply Chain teams.
  • Ensure inventory is maintained as per SOPs and company guidelines.

7. New Product Development (NPD)

  • Support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives by sourcing new materials and suppliers.
  • Coordinate procurement activities for new product addition and commercialization.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials for product launches.

8. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare procurement dashboards and MIS reports.
  • Generate inventory status, reorder level and ageing reports.
  • Prepare vendor performance reports.
  • Submit monthly procurement, inventory and budget review reports.
  • Track procurement KPIs and recommend process improvements.

9. Team Management

  • Lead, coach and develop the procurement team.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Foster collaboration across Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, QA, Finance and Sales.

Experience and other requirements

  • Graduate/MBA with 6– 12 Years experiences in purchasing, logistics and supply chain management.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in pressured circumstances.
  • Excellent negotiator and strong networking skills.
