Summary
ANB Metal Cast Limited is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Business Development Manager to expand its customer base in aluminium extrusions and engineered aluminium components. The role will focus on winning new B2B customers and developing profitable opportunities for customized aluminium profiles, die development, CNC/VMC machining, assembly and finishing. The successful candidate will manage the sales cycle from prospecting and technical requirement gathering through feasibility, quotation, negotiation, order conversion and repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify, qualify and acquire new industrial customers through direct prospecting, referrals, market visits, exhibitions and industry networks.
• Develop business with OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, solar and renewable-energy manufacturers, automotive and EV component makers, electrical/electronics companies, machinery manufacturers, engineering firms, architectural-system businesses and industrial distributors.
• Promote ANB’s customized aluminium extrusion profiles and engineered components, and including opportunities involving new die development.
• Understand customer applications, drawings, specifications, alloy/temper requirements, profile geometry, wall thickness, weight per metre, dimensional tolerances and surface-finish requirements. • Coordinate with design/die-development, production, PPC, quality and machining teams to confirm technical feasibility, costing inputs, capacity and realistic delivery commitments before submitting offers. • Develop new-profile and customer-specific component projects from initial enquiry through die/tooling, sample or trial, customer approval and commercial order.
• Prepare and negotiate quotations, pricing, tooling charges, payment terms, credit requirements, minimum order quantities and delivery schedules in coordination with management and Finance. • Monitor competitor pricing, market demand, customer sourcing patterns, raw-material price movements and emerging applications for aluminium components.
• Build and maintain relationships with customer owners/directors, procurement, purchase, engineering, design, production and quality teams; develop key accounts and repeat business.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline/CRM covering leads, technical evaluation, quotations, negotiations, trials, expected order dates, opportunity values and next actions.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on customer visits, leads, quotations, orders, sales performance, forecast, lost business and market intelligence.
• Coordinate with Finance on customer credit and outstanding payments, and with internal teams on order status, customer concerns, quality issues and delivery follow-up.
• Develop and execute territory/account plans to achieve agreed revenue, new-customer acquisition and gross-contribution targets.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales/revenue targets.
• New industrial customers acquired and revenue generated from new accounts.
• Qualified pipeline value, lead-to-order conversion rate and sales forecast accuracy. • Gross contribution/margin achievement and adherence to approved commercial terms. • Number and value of new OEM, Tier-1/Tier-2 and strategic accounts developed.
• Customized profile/component projects progressed from enquiry to trial, approval and order. • Growth in repeat orders, key-account revenue and customer retention.
• Revenue generated from value-added machining, assembly and finishing opportunities. • Timeliness and accuracy of CRM updates, sales reports and customer follow-ups.
Experience Requirements:
Required Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy/Materials Engineering, Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• An MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing may be considered where supported by strong technical manufacturing-sales experience.
• Equivalent qualifications may be considered for candidates with substantial, directly relevant industry experience.
Experience
• 8–10 years of experience in technical B2B sales/business development in aluminium extrusion, aluminium profiles/components, engineered metal products, auto components, solar components or related industrial manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success in new-customer acquisition, customer development, commercial negotiations and achieving sales targets.
• Experience dealing with OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, industrial manufacturers and engineering/procurement teams is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel for customer visits and market development as required.
Technical Skills
• Working knowledge of aluminium extrusion, profile feasibility, die/tooling development and customized profile requirements.
• Understanding of aluminium alloys such as 6063, 6061 and 6082, temper, profile weight, dimensional tolerances and surface requirements.
• Understanding of anodizing and powder coating requirements and their impact on cost, lead time and product suitability.
• Ability to interpret customer drawings/specifications and coordinate technical feasibility with engineering teams.
• Knowledge of industrial costing and pricing: raw material, conversion, tooling, machining, finishing, packaging and logistics.
• Strong skills in B2B sales, prospecting, negotiation, quotation management, CRM/pipeline tracking, forecasting and Microsoft Excel/Office.
Core Competencies
• Hunter mindset and proactive new-business development.
• Commercial acumen with a focus on profitable growth rather than sales volume alone. • Strong negotiation, persuasion, presentation and communication skills.
• Relationship-building skills across technical, procurement and senior-management stakeholders. • Analytical thinking, problem-solving and ability to understand customer applications. • Ownership, accountability, follow-through and disciplined reporting.
• Ability to work independently in the market and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams. • Customer-focused, adaptable and results-oriented approach.
