Primary Responsibilities :
Pre-Bid Engineering
Study tender documents and identify project requirements.
Prepare technical queries and clarifications.
Develop preliminary civil and structural designs for AIS/GIS substations.
Prepare estimated BOQs for civil works and steel structures for tender submissions.
Detailed Engineering
Prepare design calculations for steel support structures and foundations for substation equipment.
Design steel gantry structures and their foundations.
Review structural and fabrication drawings prepared by fabricators.
Design control room buildings, GIS buildings, staff quarters, and other associated structures.
Prepare RCC designs and detailing.
Design and detail RCC walls, cable trenches, retaining walls, boundary walls, and surface drainage systems.
Prepare detailed BOQs for civil and structural works.
Review and check drawings prepared by draughtsmen.
Respond to client comments and incorporate required revisions.
Provide technical support to site teams during project execution and commissioning.
Conduct site visits to collect project data and verify site conditions.
Prepare as-built drawings after substation commissioning.
Experience Requirements:
M.Tech in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.
2–5 years of relevant design experience.
Prior experience in AIS/GIS substation projects is essential.
Strong knowledge of civil and structural design, RCC detailing, steel structures, foundations, and BOQ preparation.
Ability to interpret tender documents, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
Experience reviewing fabrication drawings and coordinating with draughtsmen, clients, and site teams.
Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
