Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer to manage end-to-end procurement activities for Railway (OHE / S&T / Civil) and Power (Transmission & Substation) EPC projects.
The role involves procurement planning, vendor development, techno-commercial evaluation, purchase order management, logistics coordination, and cost optimization to ensure timely material availability for project execution.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical understanding, vendor management expertise, and experience handling procurement cycles in infrastructure or EPC projects.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning & Strategy
Prepare project-wise procurement plans based on:
BOQ
Drawings
Project schedules
Coordinate with:
Engineering teams
Tendering teams
Project execution teams
Develop procurement schedules aligned with project milestones
Vendor Development & Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for:
Railway materials
Power sector equipment
Civil infrastructure materials
Maintain approved vendor database
Conduct vendor performance evaluations
Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and commercial terms
Techno-Commercial Evaluation
Prepare and issue RFQs / RFPs to vendors
Perform technical and commercial bid evaluations
Compare quotations and compliance with specifications
Finalize procurement recommendations with management approval
Purchase Order & Contract Management
Prepare and release:
Purchase Orders (POs)
Work Orders
Ensure compliance with:
Contractual terms
Delivery schedules
Track procurement status and vendor deliveries
Handle amendments, claims, and dispute resolution
Logistics & Coordination
Coordinate with:
Stores
Logistics teams
Site teams
Ensure timely dispatch and material availability at project locations
Monitor inventory levels and minimize excess procurement
Cost Optimization & Compliance
Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing strategies
Ensure procurement activities comply with:
Project specifications
Client requirements

Maintain procurement documentation for audits and inspections
