Job Title: Accountant
Location: Sohar, Oman
Role Overview
The Accountant will be responsible for financial control, cash management, inventory oversight, and day-to-day depot operations. This is a hands-on role requiring close coordination with sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all depot functions.
Employment Terms
- Contract Period: 2 years from the date of joining (automatically renewable unless advised otherwise)
- Probation Period: 6 months from the date of joining
- Joining Timeline: Within 1 month
Onboarding & Expectations
- The first month will focus on training and understanding depot processes, systems, and controls
- Post-training, the candidate is expected to independently manage all accounting and depot operations

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain accurate accounting records for all depot operations
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports
- Monitor cash flow, collections, and bank deposits
- Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory balances
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial transactions
- Coordinate with auditors and head office for reporting and compliance
- Identify and report discrepancies or irregular transactions
Cash & Receivables Management
- Monitor cash collections from sales staff and ensure timely deposits
- Verify credit sales and enforce approved credit limits
- Track and follow up on outstanding receivables and aging balances
- Investigate shortages, delays, or inconsistencies in collections
Inventory & Warehouse Control
- Oversee stock levels and inventory control processes
- Conduct physical stock counts and reconcile variances
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and dispatch of goods
- Monitor stock movement and prevent losses or damages
Sales & Operations Coordination
- Supervise sales staff activities, routes, and performance
- Verify daily sales, collections, and returns
- Ensure all sales transactions are accurately recorded
- Monitor sales targets, incentives, and productivity
Depot Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day depot operations across warehouse, sales, and finance functions
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and operational procedures
- Support audits and maintain required documentation
- Supervise depot staff and ensure smooth coordination between departments
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent
- Experience in depot accounting, FMCG, or distribution operations preferred
- Strong understanding of cash handling, inventory control, and receivables management
- Ability to manage both financial records and operational activities
- Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable supervising teams in a fast-paced environment
