Job Description (JD)
Role Overview:
We are seeking 31 skilled and safety-conscious RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry) / Yard Crane Operators to join a major port facility in the Northern Emirates. The primary responsibility is the efficient and safe movement, stacking, and unstacking of containers within the port terminal yard.
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Crane Operation: Operate Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes to move containers from yard stacks to internal terminal vehicles and vice versa.
Precision Stacking: Ensure precise positioning of containers according to the terminal operating system (TOS) instructions.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to port safety protocols, including pre-operational machine checks and reporting any mechanical defects immediately.
Communication: Maintain constant radio contact with yard supervisors and terminal vehicle drivers to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Efficiency: Meet hourly move targets to ensure vessel turnaround times are optimized.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of proven experience specifically operating RTG cranes in a busy port or container terminal environment.
Certification: Must possess a valid heavy equipment operator license (specific to cranes/RTG).
Physical Fitness: Ability to work at heights (crane cabin) and pass a mandatory medical fitness test.
Skills: Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness; basic understanding of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS).
Language: Basic English communication skills are required for safety and operational instructions.
