Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for analyzing tender documents and preparing technical and commercial bids for construction projects. The role involves cost estimation, quantity take-offs, contract administration, and cost control to ensure projects are delivered within budget and according to contractual requirements.
Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying, or contract administration.
Experience with civil, commercial, residential, high-rise building, and industrial projects.
Experience working with reputable contracting companies in the UAE.
Experience in high-rise building projects is mandatory.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of measurement methods and cost analysis.
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and estimating software.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, claims, and variations.
Key Competencies
Strong analytical and cost management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Flexible to work with site-based or head office teams
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Tender Analysis & Cost Estimation
Review and scrutinize tender documents to identify discrepancies.
Prepare technical clarification letters for consultants when required.
Prepare budget estimates and cost analysis for project tenders.
Conduct detailed and accurate quantity take-offs.
Subcontractor Management
Prepare subcontract bid documents.
Evaluate technical and commercial quotations from subcontractors.
Conduct negotiations with subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing.
Project Cost Control
Monitor project costs and budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
Prepare material and manpower requirements for projects.
Identify and prepare variations and monthly project valuations.
Contract Administration
Verify subcontract variations and payment certificates.
Ensure proper management of contractual documentation, claims, and variations.
Site Coordination
Conduct site visits to assess site conditions for tender preparation.
Coordinate with department staff and project teams as required.
