Job Title: Planning Engineer
Job Summary
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion. The role involves project planning, progress tracking, risk management, and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
Experience working on high-rise building projects is mandatory.
Preferred Qualification
Engineers with MMUP/UPDA Grade ‘A’ certification will be given preference.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Good understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and project planning techniques.

Ensure project timelines align with resource availability and project objectives.
Progress Monitoring
Track project progress against approved schedules.
Perform variance analysis and identify schedule deviations.
Prepare detailed progress reports for project stakeholders.
Risk Management
Identify potential project risks and opportunities.
Conduct schedule risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays.
Resource Allocation
Coordinate and align project resources with project schedules.
Maintain integrated resource planning and ensure effective utilization.
Cost Control
Support cost monitoring and cost control activities.
Identify cost trends and assist in processing contractor claims and change orders.
Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and clients.
Provide updates and resolve planning or scheduling issues to ensure project alignment.
Reporting
Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports.
Provide graphs, dashboards, and critical path analyses to monitor project performance.
Contractor Management
Review and validate contractor planning documents and schedules.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project timelines and contractual obligations.
