The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of construction and commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with legal frameworks (including FIDIC), regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
This role plays a strategic part in risk mitigation, claims management, contract negotiation, and safeguarding project profitability across large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Administration
Administer and manage all project contracts from award to closeout.
Ensure contractual compliance with legal, financial, and internal governance standards.
Maintain proper documentation, contract registers, and correspondence records.
2. Negotiation & Drafting
Review, draft, and negotiate complex contractual terms and conditions.
Lead negotiations with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.
Manage variations, amendments, and contractual modifications.
3. Risk Management
Identify contractual and commercial risks at pre- and post-award stages.
Develop mitigation strategies to protect organizational interests.
Provide advisory support to project leadership on contractual exposure and opportunities.
4. Claims & Dispute Management
Analyze, prepare, and manage claims, extensions of time (EOT), and variations.
Coordinate with planning, commercial, and project teams to substantiate claims.
Support dispute resolution processes including negotiation, mediation, or arbitration where required.
5. Compliance & Governance
Ensure all contracts comply with applicable statutory regulations and corporate policies.
Maintain adherence to FIDIC conditions and other relevant contract forms.
Conduct periodic contract audits and compliance reviews.
6. Financial Oversight
Monitor commercial performance, budgets, and cost controls.
Review interim payment applications and progress payments.
Support profitability analysis and margin protection strategies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Experience
15–20 years of experience in contracts or commercial management.
Extensive exposure to large-scale construction projects within the GCC region.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or related discipline.
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions.
Proficiency in contract management systems and commercial documentation.
Strong understanding of construction law and dispute resolution mechanisms.

Preferred Certifications
