Job Purpose
To lead and manage the production function, ensuring efficient manufacturing of equipment and systems related to solids handling and automation technologies while meeting quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes
Hands-on experience with solids handling equipment (mixers, feeders, conveyors, etc.)
Familiarity with automation systems including control panels, PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering
Experience:
8+ years in production management within solids handling, automation, or process equipment manufacturing industries
Working Conditions
Full-time, on-site role in a fabrication/assembly environment
Requires active shop floor supervision
Coordination with cross-functional teams and occasional customer interactions
Experience Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Control
Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on order pipeline and project deadlines
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials
Monitor production KPIs and take corrective action for deviations
Coordinate with Design, Purchase, and Project teams for seamless execution
2. Shop Floor Management
Oversee fabrication, assembly, and testing of equipment such as screw conveyors, bin activators, feeders, valves, and automation panels
Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety norms
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks; implement lean manufacturing practices
Ensure preventive maintenance of machines and tools
3. Quality & Compliance
Work closely with the Quality team to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
Drive 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure adherence to ISO, ASME, CE, or customer-specific standards
Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions
4. Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and motivate production supervisors and shop floor teams
Plan shift schedules and manage workforce effectively
Ensure training and skill development of employees
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
5. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with SCM, Design, and Project teams to align production with project timelines
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
Analyze production and cost variances and implement corrective measures
