Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate South Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine, including its diverse regional variations and traditional cooking techniques. As a South Indian Chef, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic South Indian dishes to our guests.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, chutneys, and curries, according to traditional recipes and culinary standards.
2. Ensure the quality and consistency of all dishes prepared, paying close attention to taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
3. Work closely with the kitchen team to plan menus, develop new recipes, and create innovative dishes while maintaining authenticity.
4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of South Indian ingredients and spices, ensuring freshness and availability at all times.
5. Train and supervise kitchen staff in proper food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation standards, promoting a clean and organized work environment.
6. Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate timing and execution of food orders, ensuring smooth service during peak hours.
7. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage, handling, and labeling of food products.
8. Stay updated on current food trends, ingredients, and cooking methods related to South Indian cuisine, incorporating new ideas into menu development when appropriate.
9. Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with guests, addressing any special requests or dietary restrictions, and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen environment.
2. In-depth knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
3. Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare and present a wide range of South Indian dishes with authenticity and creativity.
4. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Attention to detail and a passion for quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation.
6. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
7. Certification from a culinary school or equivalent training in South Indian cuisine is preferred.
8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
